If a winter cold weather event is scheduled, your thermostat may automatically and briefly adjust to pre-heat your home right before the event. Then, during the scheduled event hours, your thermostat setting automatically adjusts down by two to four degrees. You can opt-out of the event at any time. Your participation could assist with efficient natural gas service to NW Natural customers and help you reduce your natural gas use.

• Receive a $25 reward from NW Natural when you successfully sign up for NW Natural Thermostat Rewards.

• Get another $25 incentive when you participate in at least 50% of event hours in the winter season.

• There are typically no more than ten events during the winter season, and each event will be no longer than 4 hours.

• In the winter season, events can occur between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m.

• You can opt-out of an event at any time by changing the temperature setting on your thermostat.
