How it works
If you are a residential electricity customer in Ontario with a qualifying Wi-Fi-connected thermostat for cooling, you can receive a $75 virtual prepaid Mastercard® for enrolling in the Save On Energy Peak Perks™ program. Plus, if you stay enrolled, you get a $20 Prepaid Mastercard card each additional year you stay in the program starting in 2024. Let's work together to help reduce our energy use during peak demand times.
Help reduce energy use
From June through September, the temperature of your enrolled smart thermostat will occasionally be adjusted by no more than 2 degrees Celsius for no more than three hours during periods of peak energy demand. Events will take place up to 10 times and will not occur on weekends or holidays, except in the event of a rare system emergency. You can opt out of peak energy events from your mobile device, web browser or thermostat.
