If you are an Appalachian Power residential customer in Virginia and own a smart thermostat connected to Wi-Fi to control your central AC, you may be eligible to participate!
Earn up to $75.
Appalachian Power will reward you with a $50 e-gift card just for enrolling in BYOT.
You also can receive another e-gift card for up to $25 by allowing us to make small, temporary adjustments to your smart thermostat to conserve energy during peak demand times ($5 per month enrolled from May – September).

You can opt out of thermostat adjustments at any time from your mobile device, web browser or thermostat.

Smart thermostats make it easy and convenient to manage your home’s energy use. And by signing up with Appalachian Power’s Bring Your Own Thermostat program, you’ll receive additional rewards.
By enrolling your thermostat, you agree to let Appalachian Power make brief, small adjustments to your thermostat during times of peak electric demand. You will receive a $50 e-gift card once you have successfully enrolled in the program. As long as you participate in the program, you will receive up to an additional $25 e-gift card ($5 per month May through Sept) per central cooling unit enrolled at the end of the program season.
